Single Door The single door solution is the most basic form of access control.
Multi door Systems are suitable for site where multiple access points need to be controlled or monitored.
Multi site Systems allow for centralised access systems across sites across cities, counties and beyond.
Intercoms Enable access to be granted in situations where there are many visitors.
Maintenance We are able to offer comprehensive maintenance for access control system whether or not we have installed them.

Single door

Access control systems are highly secure and un-obtrusive. A typical single door solution can be broken down into 5 key areas:

1. Reader. The entry interface.this is usually a keypad, swipe card reader or a hands free unitor a combination

2. Controller. The controller is hardware that allows information to be added to the reader in order to grant access right. Often in the case of small systems the reader and controller are combined.

3. Electronic lock. An electronic lock provides the mechanical parts of the system and ensures that the system is secure. There is a wide variety of locks available to suit situation and requirement. Some locks utilise parts of the existing locking mechanism whilst others are operated using powerful electromagnetics.

4. Exit device. The exit device allows for the release of electronic locks. There are many types of exit buttons or egress devices the most common resemble a large light switch. The exit switch can also be linked to a Passive Infa-red Detector (PIR) to allow automatic exit. The type of egress device used is dictated by situation, suitability and budget.

5. Emergency Exit Breakglass. The emergency breakglass exit forms part of a fails safe mechanism for the system in case of emergency the glass breaks and immediately disengages the locks.
It is possible and often desirable to install a single door system with the view to extend the system later through a process of modular expansion. The majority of systems Leigh Visual install allow for such an approach.
